THE HAPPIEST MAN ON EARTH.

You can’t help but fall in love with Eddie. An Auschwitz survivor and self-proclaimed “happiest man on earth,” Eddie is a living testament to overcoming hate and fear, inspiring us all to embrace life with love, joy, and resilience.

May I introduce: Remembering Eddie Jaku, a short youtube interview on The Project.

I read his book, The Happiest Man on Earth, a few years ago. It is a compelling read that will leave you reflecting on your own power of resilience and love in the face of adversity.

Editor’s Insight

And just like that → 2024 is down the drain, along with my hair, but that’s another story.

Ever feel overwhelmed with a daunting chore? a hard conversation? a thankless work day? getting that workout in? or something so mundane as cleaning out the fridge or preparing taxes?

I have 7 words that are going to transform your thinking in less than 10 seconds. It will make that chore you have to do seem like an honour.

And the hardest part about it? It’s just remembering to remember the reminder 💭

I learned this ‘life hack’ a few years back and boy oh boy has it stuck. Sometimes I feel like it slaps me in the face right in the heat of my crappy attitude, then I can’t help but think ‘Fine, it’s fine!’ After today, you’ll never not hear this in your head again:

‘I don’t HAVE to, I GET to!!’

Mic drop!

It’s a simple reminder that our struggles, tasks, and chores—no matter how mundane or overwhelming they may feel—often pale in comparison to the challenges others face. Many would trade places with us in a heartbeat but we know that already. So just do the dang thing. It’s kinda like the Nike slogan Just Do It which could easily translate into Good God Just Do It Already.

My full name and initials really should read: Kimberly Procrastination Mooney, ADHDAF.

My brains turns off the hot second I don’t want to do something, then ‘I don’t have to, I get to’ throttles me forward. Works every time.

It's easy to get caught up in what seems difficult in our lives, but sometimes all it takes is a shift in perspective to realize you are very fortunate you ‘get’ to do the task in the first place.

By embracing the mindset I don’t HAVE to, I GET to we unlock a sense of gratitude in even the simplest tasks. We simply need to remind ourselves to view whatever we're dreading through the lens of gratitude, not attitude.

Dude, we are way more blessed than we think.

Just Do the Dang Thing. ✅

Coaching with Purpose
Heather Kielly

“My coaching philosophy is built on this belief: meaningful change comes not from chasing perfection but from embracing where you are and building a path forward.”

Life often presents us with setbacks and challenges, and it’s easy to feel stuck in the past. but growth isn’t about dwelling on what’s behind you - it’s about moving forward, step by step, with purpose.

Unlike therapy, which often focuses on healing the past, coaching is about action and transformation. I help clients reframe their intentions and challenges. Together, we focus on creating momentum, one step at a time, rather than fixating on setbacks or unattainable ideals.”

Coaching is about creating momentum. It’s about breaking free from the grip of past patterns and stepping into a future built on your strengths, values, and aspirations. It’s about embracing life’s challenges, celebrating progress, and creating meaningful, lasting change.

Progress Over Perfection

Perfection is an illusion that will paralyze you. Embrace imperfect action instead – it’s far more powerful. Each small, messy step forward is progress and brings you closer to your goals. Remember, transformation happens through consistent effort, not flawless execution. Start today; progress, not perfection, will lead to success.

You Can Rewrite the Narrative

Your past doesn’t define you – it’s a chapter, not the whole story. Every lesson learned, every challenge faced, has shaped you. But the pen is in your hand now. Choose to rewrite your narrative, focusing on strength, growth, and possibility. You have the power to create the story you want.

Small Changes, Big Impact

Big transformations start with small, intentional steps. Changing one habit, shifting one mindset, or taking one action can set off a ripple effect in your life. Over time, these tiny shifts compound into significant, lasting change. Remember, sustainable growth isn’t about grand gestures – it’s about consistent, small progress every day.

Growth Happens Outside the Comfort Zone

Your comfort zone may feel safe, but growth begins at its edges. Embracing discomfort means you’re challenging yourself, learning, and evolving. Fear and uncertainty are signs you’re stepping into new possibilities. Trust the process, lean into the challenge, and watch how stepping out transforms your confidence and potential.

The Future is Created in the Present

The choices you make today shape the life you’ll live tomorrow. Every decision – no matter how small – either brings you closer to, or further from, your goals. Focus on the present moment and take actions aligned with your vision. Remember, the future isn’t found; it’s built one step at a time.

Commit to eating a fistful of greens five times a day for one week—it’s easier than you think!

How to Get Started:

  • Stock Up on a Variety of Greens:

    • Kale, spinach, bok choy, arugula, spring mix, beet greens, hearts of romaine, Napa cabbage—mix it up!

  • Don’t Be Intimidated:

    • Not familiar with some greens? No problem.

    • Buy them, chop them, eat them.

Tips for Adding Greens to Your Meals:

  • Kale:

    • Rub and soften with lemon juice, then slice thinly (or steam/boil).

    • Add to pizza or spaghetti sauce for extra nutrients.

  • Red Stem Swiss Chard:

    • A versatile green to include in your dishes.

  • Broccoli:

    • Don’t waste the stems—cut and eat them!

  • Adding Greens to Soup:

    • Toss hearty greens into any soup during the last few minutes of cooking.

  • Bok Choy:

    • Enjoy raw, cooked, or as a dipper instead of carrot sticks.

    • Bonus: It stays fresh for a long time in the fridge!

  • Napa Cabbage:

    • Great raw or cooked.

  • Romaine Hearts:

    • Use the stems as a delicious dipper for hummus!

  • Arugula:

    • Sprinkle on top of your pizza for a peppery kick.

  • Cauliflower:

    • Yes, it’s a green! Dip in hummus or roast with nutritional yeast for flavor.
