One Tiny Hair, One Giant Win

You know how life tells us to celebrate the small wins? Well… two days ago, I spotted one tiny hair on my head. One. Brave little strand. I never thought I’d cheer for something so small — but here we are.

If hair grew as fast as it appears from my chin, I’d be unstoppable. Not my reality.

For anyone catching up: I’ve been dealing with serious hair loss. After endless tests, products, and prayers, the diagnosis finally came: female pattern hair loss.

The prescription? Minoxidil. Cue the ‘dread shred stage” — hair loss on steroids!

Then this week, there it was: a teeny, fragile little hair sticking up like it had something to prove. I celebrated that small win like it was my firstborn.

Yes, I may have lost a lot this year. But I gained one. And I have to believe this is the start of better things.

Faith, faith, faith.
I gotta have faith, faith, faith.

Thanks George.

Spin Time

Abbey Lincoln ❤️

If you like Nina Simone or Billie Holiday, I highly recommend Abbey Lincoln.

She sounds like late-night honesty — an aperol spritz in a 1920s lounge. Nothing dressed up, nothing held back.

Her voice carries jazz, ache, resistance, and the quiet power of a woman who knows herself.

Turn your lights down low for this one.

Pod Time

If you love laughter, candid stories, and behind-the-scenes celebrity moments, A Good Hang with Amy Poehler is your new go-to podcast.

Each episode brings hilarious, heartfelt conversations with top stars, showing a side of Hollywood that’s both fun and refreshingly real—like her unforgettable episode with Tina Fey.

Did You Check The Time Today?

Menopause Hair Meltdown

My bangs truly feel like a Kurley Kate. Ugh. Some days, it even looks like I crimped them for an hour.

When your hair texture changes during menopause, it can get drier, more fragile, and sometimes completely unmanageable. Hello—this is me, every single day.

Frizz?
Thinning?
Loss of softness?
Dull?

Using a conditioning, hydrating mask once a week is essential to replenish moisture, improve strength, and help restore control and manageability as your hair adapts to these hormonal changes.

Tip of the month from my hair dresser:
Introduce a really good conditioning treatment and do it every Sunday, make it a ritual. Pamper yourself. I choose Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Hair Mask.

Rapid-fire🔥 Winter Life Upgrades

CAR REFRESH (Winter-Proof Your Second Home)

Keep a small blanket, not just an emergency kit — waiting for heat takes longer than you think.
Windshield washer fluid rated –40°C — PEI wind freezes weaker blends mid-spray.
Microfiber cloth in the glove box — clears fog faster than heat alone.
Crack a window slightly when parked — reduces interior condensation overnight.
Rub a drop of dish soap on side mirrors — slows fogging in wet snow.
Keep sunglasses in winter — snow glare is brighter than summer sun.
Store an old yoga mat in the trunk — traction under spinning tires works shockingly well.

CLOTHING & LAUNDRY (Cold-Weather Reality)
Wash knits inside out — reduces pilling from winter layers.
Air-dry wool flat overnight — heat ruins its insulating ability.
Steam coats, don’t wash often — refreshes without stripping fibers.
Salt stains lift with water + vinegar dab, not scrubbing.
Rest winter coats between wears — insulation rebounds when given time.
FOOD PREP & REAL LIFE EATING (Winter Energy)

Eat protein earlier in the day — it stabilizes winter energy crashes.
Warm leftovers gently — high heat dries winter foods fast.
Keep a “soup veg” bag in the freezer — peels and ends become broth.
Add spices, not salt — winter dulls taste buds.
A mug meal counts — nourishment doesn’t need a plate.

BRAIN & FOCUS (Dark-Season Thinking)

Write things down at night — winter minds loop more.
Reduce choices, not goals — fewer decisions = more follow-through.
Clean your phone screen weekly — touch fatigue is real.
Silence notifications during meals — digestion improves with calm.
Read paper before bed — screens hit harder in winter darkness.

HOUSEKEEPING SHORTCUTS (Low-Energy Days)

Clean bathrooms with old socks — slide, wipe, done.
Do one “reset load” daily — mixed laundry beats overwhelm.
Keep cleaning wipes in every bathroom — distance kills consistency.
Reset the kitchen before bed — mornings feel warmer when counters are clear.
Light a candle while cleaning — sensory reward helps follow-through.

SELF-CARE THAT ISN’T A PROJECT

Hand massage while watching TV — joints stiffen in cold months.
Epsom salt foot soak beats full baths — faster, warmer, effective.
Stretch calves before bed — winter walking tightens them fast.
Use heavier mugs — warmth lasts longer.
Lower expectations, not standards — winter has different rules.

Morning, But Better

Lemon Water

1 glass of room temperature water
½ lemon, freshly squeezed

*Squeeze the lemon into the glass of water.

Stir well and drink immediately, preferably on an empty stomach.

Chia Water

1 glass of water
1 tablespoon chia seeds
Optional: lemon juice or honey for taste

Add chia seeds to the water.

*Stir and let it sit for 15-20minutes until the seeds swell.

Add lemon juice or honey if desired.

(I’ll be trying this one first!)

Coconut Water

1 glass of fresh coconut water (preferably natural, not from concentrate)

*Simply pour the fresh coconut water into a glass.

Drink it immediately to preserve its natural electrolytes.

Ginger Water

1 glass of water

1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger or a few slices of ginger

Optional: lemon juice or honey

**Boil the water and add the ginger.

Let it simmer for 5–10 minutes. Strain and pour into a glass.

Add lemon juice or honey if you like and drink warm or cool.

Soothe Before Sleep

A warm oil foot massage before bedtime helps relax the body and settle the nervous system. If you do not have sensitive skin, you may take a moment with each oil—

Peppermint for its cooling, anti-inflammatory support
Rosemary for grounding and immune support, and
Lavender for deep calm.

You can end the massage with a bit of almond oil, or blend each essential oil with a carrier oil such as almond, vegetable, or coconut oil before applying.

A simple ritual to guide the body gently toward sleep.
(Don’t forget your magnesium 😉)

One Song Away🎶

If you’re waiting for a sign, this might be it — one song away.

Turn it up. Put it on repeat. Sing loud and proud, my friends. This one’s for you❤️

🎶 Click. Blare. Exhale. Sing. Repeat

The Ultimate Morning Skin Wake-Up🌸

Rubbing your face with an ice cube before your morning mask and serums helps wake up the skin, reduce puffiness, and boost circulation. The cold preps your face so products go on smoother and feel extra refreshing. It’s a quick step that leaves your skin looking brighter and ready for the day. ❄️
