🌷 Spring is the ‘New’ New Year

Ummmmm…but is it?

I wrote that title a week and a half ago!! 😕

My original message was going to be about a fresh start, new goals, that “new again” motivation — how we’re all out here killing it… ‘keep going, girls. Thumbs up. Yeah you. Yeah me.’

But in reality?
This issue is a week and three hours late.

So let’s just enjoy the hot mess I appear to be in — and be okay with that. Because the truth is… that’s real life.

So cheers to the storms of life.
Cheers to showing up (even if it’s late).
Cheers to finding — or not finding — matching socks… because really, who cares?

To whoever is reading this, whenever and wherever… I hope you are having, or are about to have, a wonderful day.

Embrace the unexpected. The chaos. All that will unfold today.

Oh yeah… I’ve added the link to the song.
So let’s rock this day out — even if you feel a little unhinged.

I got you. 💛

Pod Time

Worth-your-time listens

In this fascinating episode, Dr. David Sinclair — a world-renowned Professor of Genetics at Harvard Medical School — shares groundbreaking insights on longevity, cellular aging, and what science is beginning to reveal about turning back the clock.

Can aging be reversed? After 8 weeks, cells appeared 75% younger in tests!

From biological age testing to lifestyle shifts that may actually matter, his perspective is both thought-provoking and surprisingly practical.

Easter, Beautifully Simplified

🐣 Thoughtful touches, easy elegance, and a few delightful surprises

If you’re hosting (or simply want to elevate the day), here are a few refined ways to make Easter feel fresh, meaningful, and just a little bit surprising.

🌿 Set the Tone with Simplicity
Lean into natural elegance. A linen tablecloth, soft neutrals, a few sprigs of greenery, and simple dishes create a setting that feels calm and elevated. Think less “holiday décor,” more “spring awakening.”

🌻A Centerpiece That Feels Alive
Instead of a traditional arrangement, consider a loose mix of tulips, pussy willows, or even potted herbs. It’s unfussy, seasonal, and quietly beautiful — and guests will notice.

🥗Rethink the Menu (Just Slightly)
You don’t need to reinvent Easter dinner. Keep the classics, but add one unexpected element — a bright citrus salad, a fresh herb sauce, or a lighter dessert. It lifts the entire meal without adding stress.

📝Thoughtful Surprises for Guests
A small, unexpected gesture goes a long way. Handwritten place cards, a tiny bundle of flowers at each setting, or even a beautifully wrapped chocolate can make guests feel truly welcomed.

🤍Create Moments, Not Just a Meal
Easter is as much about atmosphere as it is about food. Light a candle, play soft music, open a window if the air allows. Let the day unfold slowly.

A Few Easy Tricks That Make a Difference

  • Set the table the night before — it changes your entire morning

  • Use what you already own, just styled differently

  • Keep a signature drink simple but pretty (sparkling water, citrus, fresh herbs)

  • Don’t aim for perfection — aim for warmth

🕊And Finally…
Whether your table is full or intimate, polished or relaxed, what people remember most is how they felt. Easter, at its heart, is about renewal, connection, and taking a moment to pause.

And that, beautifully, is enough.

Then there is this…

Peace of Mind.

If you’ve ever yelled “Serenity now!” through clenched teeth, you already understand the heart of meditation.

Meditation is less about emptying the mind and more about noticing it. That’s good news, because our minds are busy places. Start small. Five minutes is plenty.

  • Gently close your eyes

  • Breathe in deeply through your nose - 4 counts, then take the extra ‘sip’

  • hold for 4 seconds — breathe out slowly through your mouth (8 counts)

  • repeat cycle several times, then let breath return to normal

  • Gently bring your attention back to the breath

  • No scolding. No fixing. Just grace 🤍

If stillness feels hard, try a simple phrase on the exhale: “Here.” Or “Peace.” Or even “Serenity now”—with a smile. The goal isn’t instant calm; it’s presence. Over time, those quiet minutes soften the edges of our days. We respond instead of react.

The Four Agreements

Sometimes peace isn’t about adding more to our lives — it’s about returning to a few simple truths and actually living them.

Simple truths.

I’ve put these “agreements” into practice over the years, often when I needed them most. Remembering the one that fits the moment can shift everything — your words, your reactions, even your sense of discomfort or victimhood.

Most importantly, it changes the outcome for the better.

All four agreements are a bit like the ‘Let Them’ Theory — but with their own twist.

In The Four Agreements, author Don Miguel Ruiz offers four gentle life rules that can radically simplify how we live, love, and relate to one another.

That’s it.

Four agreements — no complicated formulas, no endless self-improvement plans. Imagine how much lighter life could feel if we spoke with integrity, stopped carrying other people’s opinions, asked instead of assuming, and gave ourselves permission to simply do our best on any given day.

Not perfect. Just present.

Silent Reflux

What You Should Know About Silent Reflux

Okay, I diagnosed myself with throat cancer more times than I can count since Christmas.

I finally broke my silence with a dear friend — and doctor — over a matcha tea (incredibly beneficial, though definitely an acquired taste!).

The verdict? Not cancer. Silent reflux.

Silent what?

I had never even heard of it.

My most concerning symptoms were difficulty swallowing and a persistent tightness in my throat. As it turns out, these are common signs of Silent Reflux (LPR — Laryngopharyngeal Reflux).

  • Frequent throat clearing

  • Chronic cough (especially dry)

  • Feeling of a lump in the throat (“globus sensation”)

  • Sore or irritated throat without a cold

  • Excess mucus in the throat

  • Post-nasal drip feeling

  • Difficulty swallowing or feeling like food gets stuck

  • Voice fatigue (voice tires easily when talking)

  • Need to swallow often to clear the throat

  • Coughing after eating or when lying down

  • Sensation of choking or tightness in the throat

Important note: Unlike typical acid reflux, silent reflux often does not cause heartburn, which is why many people don’t realize reflux is the cause.

She suggested I try DGL Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice Root and Organic Aloe Vera Gel for a couple of weeks. I feel so much better thankfully. Read More — Everything You Need To Know About Silent Reflux

Got Blues? You Should!

Nutrient-rich colours that support healthy aging.

Deep blue and purple fruits and vegetables aren’t just beautiful on your plate—they’re packed with powerful plant compounds known as phytochemicals. These naturally occurring nutrients are being widely studied for their role in supporting healthy aging.

Adding more of these richly coloured foods to your diet may help support urinary tract health, contribute to cognitive function, and play a role in reducing the risk of certain diseases. From blueberries to eggplant, these vibrant choices offer more than flavour—they bring meaningful benefits that support your body as it ages, from the inside out.

Brighten Skin Tone!

Targeted care for a clearer, more radiant complexion

Just another sign of a life well lived—another little mark that says, I’ve been here, I’ve experienced things. Age spots, though? I could do without those. I see them gradually popping up, and that’s where a good vitamin C serum comes in… for the win.

As skin matures, dark spots and uneven tone can become more noticeable. Incorporating a vitamin C serum into your morning routine can make a meaningful difference.

A small, simple step—one that brings your glow back to the surface.

Vitamin C is a powerhouse antioxidant that supports skin from within. It helps minimize free radical damage, encourages collagen production, and assists in the skin’s natural repair process. With consistent use, skin can appear more even, refreshed, and naturally radiant.

Your Morning Order 🧡

  • Cleanse

  • Tone

  • Vitamin C serum

  • Moisturizer

  • SPF (always finish here)

Spring Detox Salad

A refreshing blend of leafy greens, fresh herbs, roasted vegetables, and vibrant citrus — perfect for those in-between days when spring is calling, but winter still lingers.

“We started hitting the salads hard last week at the first peek of spring, layering soft and bitter greens, shaved Brussel sprouts and sometimes celery with the last of the juicy citrus.

Salads like this are a by-product of a mind refreshed from the recent sunshine and long hours in the yard, raking and readying the garden for spring, watching the green of the tulip tips inch up out of the soil day by day.” - Sarah Copeland

Be Random, Feel Better

🌿 Spring Edition

A little lighter, a little brighter… just how we like it.

Spring is the perfect time to gently shake things up. Nothing drastic — just small, feel-good shifts that add freshness to your days.

Here’s your this week list — pick a few, or try them all.

💦 Start your mornings simply
Schedule your chia + water combo right after coffee for one week. Hydration, fibre, glow — done.

🍐 ‘Pair a Pear’ moment
Add nuts or seeds for a quick fibre boost that actually keeps you full (and satisfied).

🪶 Car refresh, but make it effortless
Keep a feather duster in your car — a quick dash wipe at a stop sign = oddly satisfying.

🍽 Eat just enough
Pause at 80% full. Put the fork down. Notice how different your body feels when you don’t push past it.

👟 Bring your sneakers back to life
Spring reset: mix 1 tbsp baking soda + ½ tbsp hydrogen peroxide + 1 tbsp warm water. Scrub, let sit 30 minutes, rinse. Fresh, bright, ready to go.

🤍 Posture + micro-stretch reset
Right now — wiggle your toes, circle your ankles, roll your shoulders back, lift your chest just slightly.
Small shifts, big difference. Doesn’t that feel lovely?

🎶 Time-travel through music
Search the #1 song from your graduation year. Now your birth year.
Build a playlist — let it carry you on your next drive.

🌷 Let the fresh air in
Buy yourself flowers. Open the windows. Turn on your diffuser.
Your space = your mood.

🕶 Take your coffee outside
Even 5 minutes. Face the sun. Instant perspective shift.

📦 Clear one tiny space
A drawer, your handbag, the car console. Small order = big calm.

💄 Try one “new” beauty habit
A brighter lip, a touch of bronzer, a different part in your hair. Keep it light, keep it fun.

🧺 Hang something outside to dry
Sheets, a sweater — that fresh air scent is unmatched.

📱 Delete 10 photos
Or 50. Clear a little digital clutter. It counts.

🌼 Do one thing just because it’s pretty
Not productive. Not necessary. Just… lovely.

Gratitude and Grace

A message from Wayne Dyer

“Your life is like a play with several acts, some of the characters who enter have short roles to play, others have much larger roles. Some are villains and others are good guys but all of them are necessary otherwise they wouldn’t be in the play. Embrace them all and move on to the next act.”

Easter Blessing

May this season bring a quiet renewal —
a soft return to hope, to light, to what matters most.

May peace find its way into your days,
and grace into the spaces that need it.

And may you move forward gently,
with a heart open to new beginnings.

Grace 💜
